Florida requires a state roofing license (CCC) for re-roofs and repairs. Insurers routinely deny or reduce claims when work was done by an unlicensed contractor, and permits cannot be pulled without a license.
Check the license number on the listing, then confirm it on the DBPR portal. The name on the license should match the company on your contract.
Never pay in full up front. Florida law limits deposits and requires the contractor to apply for permits within 30 days of accepting money for work that needs a permit.
